Derek Ramsay’s move to TV5 Confirmed
By ALEX VALENTIN BROSAS
MANILA, Philippines – Speculations on hunk actor Derek Ramsay jumping ship to TV5 have finally been put to rest with ABS-CBN’s Corporate Communications head Bong Osorio confirming the matter.
Ramsay’s contract with ABS-CBN expired last February.
For many months now, speculations about Ramsay’s transfer have been the subject of muted conversations in the industry. The actor, before making his biggest career decision to date, related that he, his father and manager Jojie Dingcong met with ABS-CBN bigwigs Gabby Lopez and Charo Santos before arriving at the decision.
While promoting “Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang,” Ramsay shared that money will not be a deciding factor should he transfer to TV5. He said he and his family have yet to decide on the matter as they’re still waiting then for a counter-offer from ABS-CBN.
In a report from abs-cbnnews.com posted April 2, it said that Ramsay already saw Kapuso network’s offer sheet.
“Nakita na namin ‘yung offer. I think they’re exchanging e-mails now. My parents, my dad just sent an e-mail to Sir Gabby (Lopez), and nag-uusap usap na,” the hunk was quoted as saying.
At that time, Ramsay shared that “’yung mga little details, sila nag-aayos eh, so I’m just waiting for that phone call na.”
Among Derek’s shows on ABS-CBN were “Ysabella,” “Maging Sino Ka Man: Book 2” and “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition.” He was last seen in “Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang” with Erich Gonzales. He was also part of two blockbuster Star Cinema movies “No Other Woman” and “Praybeyt Benjamin.”
