Bradford Adkins: Scenes in the City

(5/26 in LA; 6/2 in SF; Also, it’s now official: ABS-CBN’s Derek Ramsay transfers to TV5)

NOW IT CAN BE TOLD! The most anticipated and most awaited launch of TV5 television network here in the US will be amplified as it brings Willie Revillame and his entire “WILL TIME BIGTIME” gang (co-hosts Mariel Rodriguez, Camille Villar, Sugar Mercado, Lovely Abella, the Bigtime Dancers, among others) performing LIVE at the 6,300-seating Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, May 26, 2012 and then next Saturday, June 02, 2012 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (7,000 seat capacity) in San Francisco, CA. Reportedly, it will be the biggest assembly of entertainment cast and crew ever imported from the Philippines to the US for a Filipino event, ever!

As it has been awhile since his last show here, this will effectively be Willie’s reunion and homecoming with his insurmountable number of fanatic followers as the Philippines’ most exciting network, TV5, launches its presence big time in California – the biggest Fil-Am community state in the US.

After signing American Idol Superstar David Archuleta to do the huge hit television series, “Nandito Ako,” only a network as big and as bold as TV5, with huge goals and aspirations that will benefit the global Filipinos, can bring this much excitement in the changing landscape of Philippine TV entertainment.

Make your Memorial Day Weekend Holiday a more memorable one by reuniting with Willie Revillame in his “Will Time BigTime US Tour”!

After months of speculation and contract negotiations, ABS-CBN has officially announced that blockbuster actor Derek Ramsay has transferred to TV5, following the giant footsteps of Aga Muhlach & Sharon Cuneta. Again, when there’s smoke, there’s fire. Who’s next?

Again, don’t forget to SAVE THE DATE(s) – May 26 & June 2!

Bong Osorio, VP/Head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications released Monday, an official statement about Derek Ramsey’s transfer to TV5, to wit:

Derek Ramsay has decided to transfer to TV5. For months, ABS-CBN has exerted efforts to make him stay as a Kapamilya. TV5, however, offered him an amount that was difficult for him to refuse. We thank Derek for the many years he has been with ABS-CBN.”

The Top 2 highest-grossing Filipino films of all-time, Praybeyt Benjamin & No Other Woman both starred Derek Ramsay, both produced by ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema. According to www.Pep.ph, it’s not about the money that made him to decide and send an email notification to ABS-CBN to not to renew his contract anymore, after his 6-year stint with them. Being a sports fanatic, Derek is excited about getting involved in TV5’s Amazing Race Philippines and the Olympics. For him, it’s about the change and ABS-CBN didn’t offer him that. Oo nga naman.

By the way, also showing on TFC screens these days is the trailer for his latest movie with Erich Gonzales, “Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang.” The movie will be shown April 6-12, 2012 at the following theaters: Cerritos Stadium Cinema in Cerritos, CA; Orange Stadium Promenade in Orange; UA Horton Plaza in San Diego, CA; Century 25 in Union City, CA; Century Great Mall in Milpitas, CA; Century Laguna 16 in Elk Grove, CA; Century at Tanforan in San Bruno,CA. I just died a little.” – Jessica Sanchez’s reaction upon learning that her idol Beyonce’s official website (www.BeyonceOnline.com) contains her American Idol Season 11 Wednesday ‘Sweet Dreams’ jaw-dropping performance. The reality-based TV show judges singularly praised (yes, all 3 of them, again) her performance last week. Also, did you notice on last week’s show that she is the only one of all 9 remaining contestants with an elaborate set (two-toned terracotta red & white doors numbering more than 10, on stage were erected combined with fog and light effects, just for her single performance!)? No wonder some sectors are calling her a Diva, in an endearing kind of way!
